An Introduction to our Arabian Horse Farm in the Heart of Tulsa, OK

When I was 2 years old living in a little town in Southeastern Oklahoma my father brought home a small horse named Shorty and it is the first thing I remember loving outside of our family. Before I was 5 years old I was known as Dick and Kathleen’s daughter, Kay Lou, who was ALWAYS on the back of a horse. That continued until leaving home for college. I always knew I would have horses in my back yard again in my life!

After a successful career of serving children and families throughout the State of Oklahoma, the time came to “get that special love back in my life for the rest of my life. A man named Elton Weeks had taken me to an Arabian horse auction and for a while I owned an Arabian named St. Valentine. Due to work, I had to find him a good home, a lovely foster family for children who wanted a horse. It was from that experience I knew my lifetime horse would be an Arabian.

After shopping for nine months, in 1998, I bought a great one – Shafe’ Alikho. He was and is a beautiful magnificent gray out of TCR Khody (a beautiful Khemosabi daughter) and by a great 7 time National Champion, Focus Alimus. To cut that story short, I will just say, only Alikho and I know the whole story of our many achievements and the outcome of having a National level Halter/English horse that we rode Western Pleasure for most of eight years. All that matters is we had a great time but the last major show we rode in I whispered in his ear, “this is the last time we are going to do this, you have earned the right to come home and just be my horse!”.

AboutUsBlackI decided that I would not buy someone else’s Arabian dream to show, that instead, I would breed my own! Thus, Riverview Arabians began. I learned a lot during those years of showing. I met many of the top trainers, breeders, and saw horse that I loved and by this time was understanding the bloodlines of horses that fit with my dreams. Those goals and dreams are to breed National level halter and performance horses with beauty, type, correct confirmation, and size. To stay a small farm breeding quality and not quantity.

veracity-picTo date, Riverview Arabians has two foals that have gone on to compete in halter and performance and have achieved Canadian Top Ten (3rd) in halter, Champion as weanling at three months of age against 12, Top 5 in Region 9 at halter, and two show Championships in Western Pleasure. They both will be my Western Pleasure show horses. One will be my brood mare! Their names are Sir KaDan El Bey and Veracity KSB.
